Can you switch out a .223 Saiga's shit so that it can mount a bayonet?

Without breaking 922(r)?

How difficult is this?

Tromix used to make a bayonet lug for the saiga12. Getting enough US parts isn't the trouble, getting the front sight base and bayonet lug (welded?)right for a bayonet would be.

Yes. You can buy an FSB and '74 style muzzle brake from either Dinzag Arms or K-Var. This will allow you to mount a bayonet on the .223 Saiga.

If you're talking about just a stock unconverted Saiga (as you pictured with no US parts at all) then no, you cannot add the FSB with bayonet lug and a muzzle brake and bayonet without triggering 922(r).

Switching out an FSB without a press can go from "moderately hard" to "HOLY SHIT WHAT IS THIS THING FUCKING NUCLEAR BONDED ON HERE?"

You have to tap out the pins (or, maybe they're really tight and you have to drill them) and then beat the FSB with a hammer until it works loose.

Then you have to hammer it back on (use a laser level to get it straight with the rear sight & barrel) and re-pin it. In my Saiga conversion guide, it's in there. It's not "difficult", per se, it just takes a lot of work. And hammering.

Who cares about 922r anyway? Fight the power!

You should post your address so we can meet up and talk about violating 922(r) together. You could perhaps even show me your firearms that violate 922(r).

either swap FSB and gasblock and put a handguard retainer on there while your at it so you can use decent furniture

or get a 74 FSB and muzzle brake and go that route.
